# Mexican consulate in Las Vegas: residency visa requirements, read September 2026

Las Vegas publishes current 2026 figures and one of the most demanding bank-document rules of any post we have read. One of its sheets also contradicts the rest on how to book.

Quick answer

Las Vegas prints the 2026 formula: **USD 4,630 a month** or **USD 78,025** in average savings for temporary residency, and **USD 7,762** or **USD 312,169** for permanent, all per person. Every bank statement must be **split by month with a bank verification letter**. Book through **MiConsulado**, as its page and three of its four sheets say; the fourth still says email. The fee is **USD 56**. Read on 22 September 2026.

## Las Vegas in short

The consulate at 823 South 6th Street keeps its visa rules on one page, updated on 28 May 2026, which links a sheet for each visa in Spanish and in English. Its requirements come down to four lines on that page: book through citas.sre.gob.mx, fill in the application form, bring a valid passport and USD 56, and bring the documents for your category in original or as certified copies. The detail, and the demanding part, is in the sheets.

| Item | What Las Vegas publishes |
| --- | --- |
| Booking | MiConsulado at citas.sre.gob.mx (one older Spanish sheet says email) |
| Questions | Visa department (702) 477-2702, visaslasvegas@sre.gob.mx |
| Fee | USD 56; the page and sheets do not say how it is paid |
| Documents | Original or certified copies |
| Bank statements | Split by month, with a verification letter from the bank |
| Decision | One to ten business days from the appointment |
| Reception | Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 14:00, for documentation services |
| Next check by us | 22 December 2026 |

## Its 2026 numbers, and how close they are

Las Vegas is one of the posts that has done the arithmetic for 2026. Every dollar figure on its sheets divides back to the 2026 UMA of MXN 117.31 at the same rate, about 17.23 pesos to the dollar. That rate is a little weaker for the dollar than the Banxico rate of 16.9722 on 10 September 2026, so the Las Vegas figures sit about 1.5 percent under the national figure today.

| Route | Las Vegas prints | National, MXN | About, at 16.9722 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Temporary, income for 6 months | USD 4,630 | MXN 79,771 | USD 4,700 |
| Temporary, average balance for 12 months | USD 78,025 | MXN 1,344,373 | USD 79,200 |
| Each family member | USD 1,498 | MXN 25,808 | USD 1,520 |
| Permanent, pension for 6 months | USD 7,762 | MXN 133,733 | USD 7,900 |
| Permanent, balance for 12 months | USD 312,169 | MXN 5,378,664 | USD 316,900 |
| Real estate in Mexico | USD 624,405 | MXN 10,758,500 | USD 633,900 |

A gap of 1.5 percent only matters to a file close to the line, and the answer is the same as everywhere: clear the higher figure. Note also the words "per person" on both the temporary and permanent sheets. A couple applying separately doubles the figure; a couple applying as a family unit uses the principal's figure plus the family-member amount. The [temporary](https://getmexicovisa.com/mexico-temporary-resident-visa) and [permanent](https://getmexicovisa.com/mexico-permanent-resident-visa) residency guides explain the two routes in full.

## Statements, split by month, with a bank letter

This is the Las Vegas rule most likely to catch an applicant out. The temporary resident sheet says every current bank statement must be submitted **split by month** and **with a verification letter from the financial institution or bank**. A single twelve-month export will not do; nor will statements without the bank's letter.

The permanent resident sheet tightens it: the bank's verification letter must have been **issued within the last 30 days**. Order it for the month of your appointment, not when you start collecting documents. If your appointment moves, the letter may need replacing.

Ask your bank now what it can produce

Online-only banks often cannot issue a signed verification letter. Find out early whether yours can, and if it cannot, move the qualifying balance to one that can, allowing for the full twelve-month lookback.

## Proving income: employees, the self-employed, retirees

The income route asks for six months of bank statements showing at least USD 4,630 a month, plus the document behind the income. Las Vegas spells out what that document is for each kind of earner, which most posts do not:

- **Employees**: an employment letter, contract or payroll.
- **Pensioners**: the pension voucher, and if you are retired, an official document that states the retirement.
- **Self-employed with a registered business**: the commercial or business licence.
- **Self-employed without one**: a 1099 from a client showing what you earned from them, pay stubs, proof of direct deposits, or a rental agreement where the income is rent.

That last line is useful to freelancers, who at other posts can find themselves with no document the consulate names. At Las Vegas, 1099s and deposit records are on the list.

## Booking: MiConsulado, whatever the old sheet says

Las Vegas's visa page says, in Spanish and in English, to make the appointment through **citas.sre.gob.mx**. So do the English temporary resident sheet and both permanent resident sheets, whose file names mark them as May 2026 versions. The Spanish temporary resident sheet, which was not re-issued, still opens with the older instruction: to request an appointment, send an email to visaslasvegas@sre.gob.mx.

Four documents against one, the newest of them the page itself, is a clear enough answer: book through MiConsulado. The visa department's inbox and its direct line, (702) 477-2702, are still the place for questions. Until 22 September 2026 this site repeated the email instruction from that Spanish sheet; the [consulate tracker](https://getmexicovisa.com/mexican-consulate-requirements-by-city) carries the correction.

The appointment itself does not guarantee the visa, the sheets warn, and bringing the right documents is the applicant's responsibility. The decision takes one to ten business days from the day of the appointment.

Appointments are free

Booking through MiConsulado costs nothing, and nobody outside the consulate controls the calendar. **We do not book, resell or secure appointments.**

## Retirees, spouses and families

**Retirees.** The permanent resident sheet says in capitals that the category is exclusively for retirees and pensioners, who must provide a letter or official document that proves the retirement. Las Vegas does not add an age, unlike some posts; what it wants is the document. With it: a pension of at least USD 7,762 a month for six months, or a balance of at least USD 312,169 for twelve months, per person.

**Married to a Mexican.** The sheet asks for the original marriage record and proof of Mexican nationality, and states that economic solvency does not apply to this option. (The Spanish sheet labels the option F, the English one G; the rule is the same.)

**Family of a foreign resident.** The spouse, children or parents of someone holding a Mexican residence visa or card prove the relationship with original records. For most of these cases the sheets also ask the sponsor to show USD 1,498 a month per person, as an average balance over twelve months or as income over six; the temporary resident sheet is not consistent on which cases, so bring the proof either way. The [family unity guide](https://getmexicovisa.com/mexico-family-unity-visa) covers who gets which status.

## All of Nevada, including Elko

The consulate's own page, updated on 9 February 2026, gives its district as every county in Nevada: Carson City, Churchill, Clark, Douglas, Elko, Esmeralda, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lincoln, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Pershing, Storey, Washoe and White Pine.

One official page disagrees. The [Phoenix consulate](https://getmexicovisa.com/mexican-consulate-requirements-by-city/phoenix)'s district page, last updated in February 2020, still lists the whole state of Nevada under Phoenix. The newer Las Vegas page is the one to follow, and for a residency visa it matters less anyway: any consular office can take the application.

## Frequently asked questions

### What income does the Las Vegas Mexican consulate require for temporary residency?

Its 2026 sheets ask for a monthly income of at least USD 4,630 per person for the last six months, or an average monthly balance of USD 78,025 over the last twelve. Both are the 2026 UMA multiples converted at about 17.23 pesos to the dollar. At the Banxico rate of 16.9722 on 10 September 2026 the same multiples come to about USD 4,700 and USD 79,200, so prepare to those.

### Does the Las Vegas Mexican consulate book visa appointments by email?

Not any more, on its current documents. Its visa page, updated on 28 May 2026, its English temporary resident sheet and both permanent resident sheets say appointments are made through MiConsulado at citas.sre.gob.mx. Only the Spanish temporary resident sheet still asks for requests by email to visaslasvegas@sre.gob.mx. Book through MiConsulado and keep the email and the visa department's line, (702) 477-2702, for questions.

### How does the Las Vegas consulate want bank statements?

Split by month, with a verification letter from the bank or financial institution. For the permanent resident visa the sheet adds that the bank's letter must have been issued within the last 30 days. Documents are accepted in original or as certified copies.

### Can a self-employed person apply at the Las Vegas consulate?

Yes. The sheet asks self-employed applicants for a commercial or business licence. Someone self-employed without a registered business can prove income with a 1099 from a client, pay stubs, proof of direct deposits, or a rental agreement where the income is rent, alongside six months of bank statements.

### Which areas does the Mexican consulate in Las Vegas serve?

All seventeen counties of Nevada, including Clark, Washoe, Carson City and Elko, according to its own page updated in February 2026. Any consular office can take a visa application under the national rules, so living elsewhere does not prevent you applying in Las Vegas.

### What does a retiree need for a permanent resident visa in Las Vegas?

A letter or official document proving the retirement, which the sheet says in capitals is required because the category is exclusively for retirees and pensioners. Then either a pension of at least USD 7,762 a month for six months, or a balance of at least USD 312,169 for twelve months, per person, with statements by month and a bank verification letter issued within the last 30 days.

### Does my spouse need to show income at the Las Vegas consulate?

Not if you are married to a Mexican: the sheet states that economic solvency does not apply to that option. For most relatives of a foreign resident, the sheets ask the sponsor to show USD 1,498 a month per person, by balance over twelve months or income over six, about USD 1,520 at today's rate.
